Maja came from a family of actors and actresses. One of this is her Tito Philip Salvador.Her uncle, Philip Salvador, is currently one of the more famous actors in the Philippines. Her late great-grandfather, Luis "Lou" Salvador Sr., is a legendary Filipino basketball player who played for the Philippine national basketball team several times during the pre-war era. Her father Ross Rival (Rosauro Salvador in private life), aunt Jobelle Salvador, late grandfather Lou Salvador Jr. She's the daughter of Ross Rival and Thelma Andres.
Her siblings are Joseph, Jonjon, Bong, Luchi, Shyla, Jason, Marie, Kirby. She was reunited with her father and it was aired on The Buzz. She has a Japanese stepfather.
